Can you hear the music?
I asked Katherine if she could hear the music. “What music?” she said. I told her, “The hymns that are playing over the intercom system.” She looked at me funny and said, “There is no music playing, John, just the sound of monitors through the ICU.” I said, “Yes, there is!” I just assumed everyone could hear it. I explained that ever since yesterday there have been hymns playing all day. “No, there isn’t.” she said. “Well, I can hear it, plain as day.” “Well, then it is just you.” she said. I told her ‘God Be With You Till We Meet Again’ is the one playing all day today. “I wish I could hear them.” she later said. We both came to the conclusion that this was a gift from heaven to comfort me.
